2022 Street style lookbook

2022 Street style lookbook

So basically street style is a specific fashion style from British fashion culture. In a  season that was more about spectacle than clothes, the way we dress was answered on the street, not the runway. The street style has evolved every year for example for spring 2022 the embrace of odd layering and dresses over pants in London and New York and gender fluid style.

Below we've distilled five of the season's most pervasive and surprising street style trends like the big themes clashing prints, vivid colour blocking, strange layers, tailored vests and more stuff which reflected our year at home and desire to get used to it all.

Prints and Many Colours

Based on the judgement is that we choose one print, then balance it with quiet neutrals, solids or pastels. Many people took it the opposite, wearing all the brightest, boldest and most loved prints at once. Wearing bold colours and prints can make you feel kind of intimidating but more confident.

Block Colour Party

After returning from 2011's trend of colour-blocking the formula trickled down to the streets for spring 2022 with colour-blocked neons and primary brights. It’s an easy way to get dressed without resorting to basics, and can help reframe the stuff in your closet: Instead of wearing your favourite pink sweater with jeans for the hundredth time, try it with a green trouser or yellow skirt.

Dress or Pants? Wear Both

For those who lived through one of these confusing looks, you might remember that nothing was off-limits when it came to how to wear it. The inspiration doesn't just stop there. Tonnes of celebrities and street style stars are on board with this look these days, providing us with numerous ways to pull off this outfit combo. It might be a little confusing but the thing is don't overdo it just make it look well structured.

Let the Jacket be Optional

Suits aren’t over, but they’re getting more casual, more comfortable, and less corporate. The tailored vest-as-top was popular in every city this season, from classic pinstripes to leather and fringe. In the future there will definitely be more cool fits like these.

Cargo Bottoms

As we start planning our fall wardrobes and slowly swap our denim shorts for something more fitting for cooler temps, cargo pants are becoming a major fashion staple yet again. For all the wild prints and unlikely combinations, there were just as many low-key, relaxed looks this month. Several people traded their jeans for baggy cargos and ripstop pants, often pairing them with a simple white tank or tee.
